Rivers Run Black
This is something that hasn’t made an appearance in the blogosphere, but should. It seems that much of the Chinese countryside has been converted into one big cancer valley, because of improper environmental management – no air or water pollution controls, no waste management, nothing. So much for unfettered free enterprise improving the lot of the common man. I don’t think we have a good handle on what’s sensible environmental and risk management; we worry about too many risks that are trivial and ignore too many that are significant. But what’s going on in China right now is ridiculous.
